Kaya was born in Konya, Turkey. She went to Gaziosmanpaşa elementary school and finished her studies at the Liceo Italiano di Istanbul in 2009. For her higher education, she joined Istanbul Bilgi University. Her parents, both lawyers, separated when she was 7 years old. Kaya got involved in art and acting from a young age, taking ballet and violin lessons for 7 years during her childhood. She is fluent in Italian and English, along with her native language, Turkish. There’s also talk that she’s learning a fourth language, German.

Career

Kaya began her acting journey in 2006 with the TV series “Genco,” where she portrayed the character Özge (Gülay Erkaya). She also had guest roles in fantasy series like the Turkish version of “Sabrina Teenage Witch” called “Acemi Cadı,” the popular series “Sıla,” and “Taşların Sırrı.”

In 2008, she played Nihal Ziyagil in a modern adaptation of the novel “Aşk-ı Memnu,” co-starring with Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Beren Saat. Her cinematic debut happened in Selçuk Aydemir’s movie “Çalgı Çengi” in 2011. During this time, she took drama lessons from Ayla Algan and joined Ümit Çırak Modern Acting Techniques Workshop, learning from Ümit Çırak himself.

A turning point in Kaya’s career was her lead role as Feriha Yilmaz in the first two seasons of the TV series “Adını Feriha Koydum” (2011). The show gained high ratings and acclaim in Turkey. She later appeared in commercials for Bingo with her mother.

In late 2012, she left “Adını Feriha Koydum” and starred in a new series called “Son Yaz Balkanlar 1912.” However, the series ended quickly due to low ratings.
